What is Pleasantview Industries?

Pleasantview is a local non-profit work services program providing training and support services for adults with developmental disabilities.

Our competent employees are ready to be placed in entry level positions in business and industry.

Some of the occupational areas are: electronics, assembly, janitorial, light industry, shipping and receiving, clerical, retail, and food service.



What kinds of services can Pleasantview Industries provide for my company?
Pleasantview Industries provides a variety of contract services, but we are most prominent in: small assembly, packaging (including shrink wrapping, bagging, and heat sealing), wrapping, bulk mail preparation, collating, sorting, labeling, stapling, stamping, gluing, and much more!

What is Pleasantview's mission statement?
  1. Provide Work Services, Supported Employment, and other Support Services for adults with developmental disabilities.
  2. Develop, maintain, and/or maximize skills and capabilities to assist program participants in gaining their maximum potential vocationally, psychologically, and socially, and greater independence within the community.


What is a developmental disability?
Mental retardation, autism, cerebral palsy, epilepsy, severe brain trauma and any other closely related condition manifested before age 18, which is expected to continue indefinitely and presents a substantial disability.



Do Pleasantview's services cost?
The services provided are free of charge to individuals who meet the criteria and are diagnosed with a developmental disability. Entrance into the program is through referral from the Regional Center system. Additionally, Pleasantview's community employment support services are free to companies who employ an individual with a developmental disability.



Are there further benefits if my company hires a person with a developmental disability?

Yes, a Work Opportunity Tax Credit is available. The employee must be retained for 400 hours in order to receive a 40 percent tax credit on qualified first year wages up to \$6000.



Are Pleasantview's programs accredited?
Yes, our program services are accredited by the Rehabilitation Accreditation Commission (CARF). This is a nationally recognized accrediting body that assures quality, value, and optimal outcomes of services.
 


How do I arrange a visit of the Pleasantview programs?
Just call the office ... 296-6700. The program is in operation 9:00 am to 4:00 pm Monday through Friday.
